Free Kids!
Sydney came up with a doozie the other night.
I was putting her to bed and she was telling me how excited she was for finding her library book. It had been lost for a day or two.
Then she asked me where libraries get the books. "Do they buy the books, Daddy?" I said, "Sometimes. But other times people make a donation."
Sydney asked, "What's a donation?" I explained that a donation is when someone gives you something for free. "Like when we donate clothes to poor people. We just give them the clothes", I said.
Sydney then said, "Wouldn't it be cool if you could donate kids?"
I said that's called adoption. Sometimes people give their children away.
And she said, "I've got a great idea!" Followed up by, "Wouldn't it be cool if Aubrey, Hadley and I put on some shirts that said "Free Kids" and then people could come and get us.
"Interesting concept," I suggested as I laughed. I followed up with, "But, we wouldn't want to give you away. Although, some days Mommy and I might be tempted. :)"
Where do they come up with this stuff?
