Crying Time

I think coming up with blog titles keeps me from blogging more than anything. Almost like writing a new story every day. Could write about Kids. Work. Food. Golf. Jayhawks. Hail storms. Photography. Whatever. It all comes down to sitting down, committing to a story and doin it.

So crying time seems as legit a title as any. Especially as I sit down to write and the kids are going through the bed time routine. Note to self. I should not sit down to write during the kids bed time routine. BUT I just finished cleaning the kitchen, dishing out Aubrey's Birthday Eve ice cream treats and needed to get some things down on the screen before they fade away.

Carley happened to be crying at the exact moment I started to write. Henceforth, it shall be known as crying time.

But for the most part, there wasn't a lot of crying over the weekend. Had a really great time with the kids after being away on business in San Fran for the week. Bubby started saying "Tankku" and running around the house without a diaper. Really wants to be potty trained. Went to Olive Garden for Aubrey's birthday dinner. Sat at the main dinner table in the middle of the restaurant. Very cool. Aubrey had two soccer games. Won one. Lost one. She played really tough and I was very proud of her determination. Hadley started to dig the trolley car souvenir a lot more as the weekend progressed. Sydney had a great game too and was a big help for Aubrey's birthday celebration. Hadley was too with her awesome birthday poster. Boy do the girls love to decorate for parties.

I guess I should try to include some more crying references in the post to bring the theme full circle. Aubrey was "crying" about the Easter Bunny not doing a good job of hiding the eggs this year. Here's a picture of the family in case you've cried about not seeing any pictures as of late. Bubby always cries when we don't give her ice cream. This in turn leads to us giving her ice cream. And brownies. I should probably say, "leads me" vs "us". :) We should always remember not to cry over spilled milk, hot cocoa in the Jiffy Lube or spending too much time around the kids when they cry and whine too much. Someday the crying time days will be gone and it will surely bring a tear to our eyes.

Enjoy the ride.
