Simplicity of Six and Me Done Now
Last night we were watching Hillary Clinton not conceding to Barack Obama even though he had "clinched" the nomination according to CNN and every other network. Aubrey was asking who she was and what she was talking about. I told her that she was running for president but that she was not going to win because she didn't get enough votes. She promptly responded with, "Does she know that?" Even a six year old knows when the game is over.
Earlier in the evening the girls all had their first swim lessons of the summer. It was Hadley's first lesson ever. She wasn't too thrilled about it. But she looked really cute with her goggles. The teacher made her swim on her own with a bubble. She cried and cried. She yelled for Mama. Her lips were pursed together trying to keep the water out of her mouth. As she went in for the third time, she was kicking toward the side saying "I done now. I done now." all the way. After the class she was pretty proud of herself as she swam in the shallow end. But on the way home, she said, "We done with swimming lessons, Daddy?" She'll get the hang of it.
