Summer 2008: Day One
So today is the official, first weekday of summer vacation. We kicked off the weekend with swimming, golf with Gupta/Lee, sprinklers with the Tretiaks, rainy inside activities and some kitchen backsplash demo work. But today, was first day of sleep in a little more. The kids actually got it. They weren't up at the crack of dawn. But when they did get up, they did keep up with the teasing, fighting and whining. Geez. They need a pill for that. Or better yet, a vaccination. Hopefully the summer fun will outweigh the summer "three's a crowd" times. Looking forward to having some fun memories.
Going back to last week, Aubrey was really sad on Thursday, because she missed Mrs. Mussat. She is such a great teacher and she cried herself to sleep. But on Friday, the kids took their teachers some fresh flowers for a goodbye gift. That made her feel better. But then that night, Aubrey asked Lisa if she had to go to college. Lisa said no. But wondered why. "Because I don't want to leave you." I'm sure after a bunch of summers she'll be ready to go. But sure was cute.
