Is 1-A Good for You?
So my oldest daughter, Sydney, loves A-1 Steaksauce. She says she loves to lick it off the plate. She loves the spices. Right now she has it dripping off her chin, laughing, enjoying her cold steak snacktime with Dad. Today she asked if "1-A is good for you?" She then went on a rant about all the food she loves. "I love popcorn, and barbeque sauce, and apples, and vegetable soup, and ice cream".
That got me thinking. Marketers spend so much time trying to think of ways to tell people why they should like their products. Now, we spend a ton of time trying to capture "Word of Mouth" of people giving free publicity as to why they like products. There are services dedicated to offer incentives to "Buzz Agents" who claim to like something. But how do we know if they are telling the truth?
Kids are brutally honest when it comes to saying what they like and dislike. I think the time has come for a show where kids just talk about products and services that they like and dislike. Who needs commercials. Here's a highlights for the A-1 episode:
"You know Daddy, this steak and A-1 makes my tooth feel better!" I'm not making this up. Sydney just said that. Not only is Beef "What's for Dinner.", it makes your teeth feel better when combined with A-1 Steaksauce. Insert new tagline. "A-1, the WD-40 of Steak Sauces."
The kicker is that kids should get paid to endorse products. Everyone should be paid to "tell a friend" how much they love a product. Tiger Woods gets paid millions of dollars to use, wear, eat, drink and sleep Nike.
Why shouldn't you?
